Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. It is written to meet our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Sons of Destiny Records Ltd, trading as Jeozi Fragrances ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Registered office: Holland Rise House, Clapham Road, London SW9 0HS
Company number: 13906343
Email: info@jeozifragranceandmore.co.uk
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to sell you fragrance and get it to your door.
- Your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number.
- What you ordered, what you paid, which delivery option you chose, and your order history.
- If you create an account: your username, a securely hashed password, and any addresses you save.
- Messages you send us, by email or through the contact form, and our replies.
- Technical information your browser sends when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you viewed. This sits in our server logs.
We never see or store your card number. Payments are taken by PayPal on their own systems; we receive a confirmation that payment succeeded, along with a transaction reference and the billing details you gave them.
We do not collect special category data — nothing about your health, ethnicity, beliefs or anything similar — and we ask you not to send it to us.
3. Where we get it
- Directly from you, when you order, create an account, or contact us.
- Automatically, as your browser interacts with the site.
- From PayPal, when they confirm a payment.
- From our delivery carriers, when they report a parcel's progress.
4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use. Ours are set out below.
5. Who we share it with
We share your information only with organisations that help us run the store, and only with what they need:
- PayPal — to process your payment. PayPal is a separate data controller and handles your information under its own privacy policy.
- Delivery carriers — your name, delivery address and, where the service needs it, your phone number or email so they can notify you.
- Our web host — Hostinger, which stores the website and its database on our behalf.
- Our accountant, and HMRC — for tax and statutory record-keeping.
- Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to make the site work — keeping your basket between pages and keeping you signed in. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies, so there is nothing here to opt out of. Our Cookies page lists them.
7. Marketing
We will only email you about products and offers if you have asked us to, or if you have bought from us and we are telling you about similar products. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop the emails we must send about an order you have placed.
8. Children
This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security, and how long we keep it
The site runs over an encrypted connection, account passwords are stored hashed rather than in readable form, and access to customer records is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will tell you and the ICO promptly if a breach puts you at risk.
We do not keep information longer than we need it:
- Order and payment records — six years after the end of the financial year they fall in, because HMRC requires it.
- Your account — until you ask us to close it, after which we delete or anonymise it, keeping only what the accounting rule above requires.
- Emails and enquiries — up to two years.
- Marketing preferences — until you withdraw consent, plus a minimal record of the withdrawal so we do not contact you again by mistake.
- Server logs — a short rolling period for security and diagnostics.
10. Transfers outside the UK
We run the store from the UK and sell only to UK addresses. Some of our providers — PayPal in particular — may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered either by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement, so your information keeps a comparable level of protection.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate information corrected.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Ask us to restrict how we use it while a question about it is resolved.
- Object to use we have justified by legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Receive information you gave us in a portable form, or have it sent to another provider.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email info@jeozifragranceandmore.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge, and we will not ask you to give a reason.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@jeozifragranceandmore.co.uk so we can put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at any time — at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the store changes. Anything significant — a new provider, a new use of your information — will be reflected here before it starts.
